We’ve identified numerous problems and risks with our business
plan.
-1) USF Administrative support: Essential and without this, we really
don’t have much to launch from.
&nbs=
p;
However, we need more than verbal approval.
GreenHorn Recycling requires acti=
ve
support and participation from the executive level.
We will rely on USF senior leader=
ship
to set the example for the remainder of the university.
-Our second problem *CHANGE*
2) At-The-Source-Sorting: People just don’t care and we’ll hav=
e to
educate them and create a sense of ownership for this campus and our
earth.
We’ll employ st=
udent
emissaries, faculty representatives, and USF ground crew to assist our eff=
orts
to increase awareness at the very point when the recyclable leaves the han=
d of
our resource provider.
-Additionally, we’ve identified risks with our plan.
The most important of which prese=
nts
itself at the point when we must decide whether or not to launch operation=
al
efforts.
If at that point, G=
HR has
not created the partnerships necessary to receive materials from our
off-campus partners and ultimately sustain our business model, operations =
may
be delayed.
This delay could
potentially derail the implementation process and cause any generated
excitement to fizzle out.
=
13;
-So, how do we plan to mitigate this risk.
Again, it starts with relationshi=
ps but
we figure we’ll also have to be realistic with this project at that =
time
when operations launch is a possibility.
&=
nbsp;
If the business model is not sustainable, and the relationships have
not been established, we will abandon the project.
None of us is going to attach our=
selves
to a project with no foundation.
So our best effort towards mitigation is to remain realistic and ho=
nest
with ourselves about the sustainability of the business model at that crit=
ical
decision point and work tirelessly to develop strong partnerships.
So as you can see, we face very real and significant challenges.
At this point I’ll defer to=
