STARS USA INC.
STARS USA is a Non-Profit organization whose purpose is to fund projects that will result in social changes to make the world a better place.
STARS was founded in 1984 by students Eric Weaver and Chuck Miccolis along with recent grad Keith Sargent at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa. Under its original name Rent-A-Student, its goal was to provide opportunities for students to get college credit for real world activities. Since Eric and Chuck were both Engineering students at that time, their efforts focused mainly upon using their developing expertise to assist in community enhancement projects.
STARS evolved to where it sought to patent ideas for improving the infrastructure of our day-to-day life. In 1991, recognizing that inventions that will change the world required money, STARS achieved full 501(c)3 status as a Non-Profit, Tax-Exempt organization under it’s present name – Students Taking an Active Role in Society. To achieve thegoal to develop patents STARS USA Inc is actively fund-raising.
Since then, STARS has continued to evolve to its present state whereby any worthwhile project that will enhance and/or improve society’s well being is considered for support. Today, the goal of STARS is to raise money to fund projects that correspond to the objectives of the organization.
