About Non-Profit
The purpose of this page is to educate you on non-profit charitable giving, and in particular, how the IRS Rules would relate to your fully tax deductible donation to STARS. Not only will we attempt to explain the general concepts as well as the specifics, but we will also provide you with links to other web sites that will provide all the details regarding contributions to Non-Profit organizations such as STARS.
Generally speaking, the IRS will allow you to deduct up to $250 per year without naming the charity or having a receipt. Donations above $250 will require both. As for limitations on your contributions to non-profits, you can deduct up to 50% of your Adjusted Gross Income to a qualifying organization. Consult your Tax Advisor before making any overly generous contributions to STARS.
One of the Best things you can do if you want to contribute to STARS in a non-monetary fashion is either to Donate your Property, or Donate your Time and/or Service(s) - both of which are fully Tax-Deductible. The IRS Rules regarding both these Contributions are not that simple, but at the same time, are not very complicated.
STARS welcomes ANY contribution you feel inclined to make, be it Money, Property, or your Service(s) and/or Time. STARS will make certain that you get the proper documentation to get every tax advantage you are entitled to within the regulations of the IRS Code.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!! We look forward to funding the charitable projects that are near and dear to you.
