A.R.C.E. Talent Search (Applying Resources Constructively & Effectively) The original student organization Rent-A-Student sponsored a summer long talent search whereby local teens were encouraged to explore and develop their artistic expression and were rewarded with local company sponsored prizes. The Finals were televised on a local cable access station. 1983 completed
C.E.R.T. Grant – Citizens’ Emergency Response Training- This program was done in conjunction with FEMA to fund the training of citizens to be able to respond and assist in the event of emergency situations, such as hurricanes or terrorist attacks.
Computer Labs – This project begins with collecting excess or unwanted computers from companies. STARS donates these computers to under funded computer labs in
churches and public schools. The program also features assisting in the
training of students on how to use and repair computers.
David Anchin Research Center – This project was a unique short-term opportunity where students rebuilt the research centers computer network to include their original website and a print server. The Education College has subsequently taken over the servers.
