The David C. Anchin
Series of books
To provide information to schools, teachers,
parents, and the national education community about a variety of issues
related to the reinvention of schools to create more productive learning
environments for students
In the fall of 1994 Ablex Publishing Company began publishing a series
of cutting-edge books in Education. Named the David C. Anchin Series of
books and papers, each is highly relevant to the missions of the Anchin
Center and to the topic of reinventing schools.
Focusing on the major educational and social implications of research
on schooling, these volumes address important issues that encompass the
broadest interpretation of the term schooling, including children's
experiences within the educational environments of their home, daycare
settings, and primary and secondary schools. Each volume examines
cutting-edge research and conceptual model's; illuminates special social
issues and their implications for educational practice; and springs from
original research that incorporates a thorough analysis of relevant
literature. Editorial inquiries should be directed to Kathy Borman,
Associate Director of the Anchin Center.
